Drawing 1.0

Image
I started the drawings. I was originally planning on just finding licensed images online but then figured that keeping myself to as little websites as possible would be the best option for me, especially when it comes to the issue of copyright, thus I decided to find a majority of my pictures from the website Unsplash.  I went through the process of picking out scenes from each chapter that had something more meaningful happen or just a scene that stood out more, then drew it out accordingly. I then showed it to some of my classmates and asked for their opinion. They suggested adding some highlights and shadows as well as to try to blend the drawing into the image. Resulting in this image which I thought was a drastic improvement and the advice was extremely helpful. So much appreciation to them. I continued to try out these advices on some of my other drawings.

Novel 3.0

I wanted to stop working on the novel for awhile but I can't do the images if I don't know what to do them about.  However, I do have a vague idea of the first and last image which is progress! I've also started writing more comments in real life in addition to the Microsoft comments, everything is feeling so messy and my hand is starting to feel sore from typing and writing. The excitement I felt at the start of the assignment is no longer anywhere to be found. I have finally finished my novel (to a certain extent), but then realized I am lacking in word count, by a lot. Now, I've started recording the word count for each chapter and calculating the necessary amount per chapter.  Meanwhile, I shall start planning the images and what part of the story I would like to include as a drawing in the website. I've also found other websites that more closely resembles my project. So I'm just gonna leave them here for my own reference. https://www.lostandfo...

Novel Update 2.0

Image
I finally have something I can work with but wow I did not realize how demotivated reading my own work would be. In an effort to give myself a break from coming up with ideas, I have decided to proofread my work instead.  The work was terrible, it was a huge mess and the plot was everywhere, I kept repeating similar words and phrases, I started adding comments and highlighting different sections with coordinating colours for it's respective issues. yellow would be inconsistency, green was for repetition, pink for errors in general and blue for blending issues.  I've taken to writing down said repeating words in addition to highlighting them over the course of proofreading this. In addition, I've come to the realization that I have a very small collection of vocabulary, but on the bright side since the novel is targeted at the general public, my use of basic words is great!  *Wow, who knew that helplines were so useless. I tried calling a professional just for ...

Novel Draft

Image
Been working on my novel once more, but I've been having trouble coming up with ideas. For now I've just been using the tactic of throwing out whatever idea I have and just connecting them as much as I can or trying my best to make it make sense. On the bright side, I have decided to move my work station to Microsoft Word instead of google document, surprise! Workflow is going slowly, certainly not as quickly as I was hoping it to go. I guess this would be considered a writers block. *I'll be honest, my mental health feels like it's on a depressive episode so work is extremely slow but I'm trying ways to pick it back up*
