Week 4 - Typography

Image
Starting with the typography I picked 2 fonts for the novel, Simonetta and Poppins. I picked Poppins cause it was easy to read and just seemed more straightforward, considering that I was writing a story and readers would be reading everything on a screen, I tried to pick something that was less straining on the eyes for the main body of my novel. Next, we have Simonetta. I chose this typeface to give the website something a little more exciting to look at. Just having Poppins would look rather flat and boring so I picked a serif typeface to create more texture and give more emphasis for the headings in my website.

Week 3 - Class Activity (User Experience & Brand Touchpoint)

Image
Here's my user experience and brand touchpoint, I showed it during a tutorial this week. I also made another set to go with the one I showed. I created one guy and one girl with contrasting situations but within the target audience age group. The girl has freedom and friends while the guy is tired and overworking. User experience:       Ahmiracle Who is the user? Ahmiracle is 17 years old. She is studying in high school. She’s interested in music, hanging out with her friends and becoming a social media influencer. She is open to experiencing new things and bonding with others. Their Goals? She wants to find a new hobby to pass the time. Their Motivations? She wants to find a comfort activity, something to do when she wants to relax. External Factors? Ahmiracle loves her friends but sometimes she wants some time to herself and just wants an activity that she can do in her lonesome without feeling the need to check her social media every 5 seconds. Experience with your ...

Week 3 - Updates

After a discussion of my 3 useless ideas with Steve, I've made progress on the type of project I'm going for, which is a novel, but not the topic for my project. I am currently lost and have no ideas, a sudden blast of creativity from the heavens would be greatly appreciated right now! While coming up with ideas for my topic, I found myself leaning towards themes such as coming of age and family, I figured I could even give reading the book Great Expectations by Charles Dickens a shot. On the other hand, I did find some lovely examples to use as references for my project. I decided to create my book as a website, but in order to keep things interesting I thought that adding some media elements would be better. The ones below are some examples that really caught my eye, and I thought they pretty interesting for what I want to do.                              I have always been the type of ...

Week 2 - 3 Ideas

Image
For the Degree Project assignment 1, I came up with a few ideas for the installation (as shown below). From my understanding, an installation is something that is interactable and can be seen as well as touched, so the ideas tend to feature that aspect. However, after the tutorial, Steve mentioned that this may not necessarily be the case and suggested I do something else. I wanted to do web design but once more Steve said it wasn't enough for a degree project.  In the end, Steve suggested doing something I'd like to do in the future or something I was interested in, which was copywriting - he suggested writing a book. Never in my life have I ever thought of copywriting as writing a book, I always thought copywriting was for writing social media post but honestly the idea of writing a book was exciting.  My experience in writing would consist of essays and fanfiction so I didn't have much confidence but I am so excited to give writing a story a shot. Coming up with ideas wa...

Week 1 - Class Activity

Activity 1: Improving things Monopoly has a card game called Monopoly Deal and when playing it with my friends I noticed they always complain that I hide my cards. This is a tactic I used when playing to make them assume I have less cards, though I also made sure not to exceed the 7-card limit. Hence, I believe that the game should include rules stating that players cannot hide their cards when playing. Something wrong about my example Maybe the example is too specific, and does not apply to more players Might be common sense to not hide your cards Perhaps should be under unwritten rules Activity 2: Making things better Critical Theory Time management theory, could be applied to the class calendar as students could take the initiative to plan their assignments around their classes.
